First Trapping of 2022

We were so excited to finally trap at a site we had intended to do last fall but were not able to service then. This site was a great example of caretakers who love their colony cats and have even made a wonderful shed for them including an area for momma cat and kittens. We thought we were 100% successful in trapping all cats on the first try, (which would have been a first for us!), but, alas, there was one straggler that showed up after our trapping. Another surprise (well, kind of – it is kitten season so not a total shock), was a litter of five kittens under a grill cover. These kittens were fostered while mom was fixed (since she went in a trap we had set). We make sure our TNR supplies include KMR (kitten milk replacer), a carrier, and a heating pad for just such an instance. The caregivers were very pleased with our efforts and we commend them for their commitment to this colony.
